ABOUT SCIENCE RESEARCH IN INDIA

In 99th Indian Science Congress Prime Minister of india said, emphasis on ensuring a major increase in investment in research and development including by industry and strategic sectors along with creation of a new innovation ecosystem. He stressed on expanding basic science infrastructure while enlarging the reach of international collaboration.

Expressing concern that countries like China had overtaken India in terms of position in the world of science, he said there need to do much more to change the face of Indian science. “We must strengthen the supply chain of the science sector. While it is true that science and engineering continue to attract some of our best students, many of them later opt for other careers because of relatively poorer prospects in science”, said Dr. Singh.

AWAKE AND ARISE

BTECH BIOTECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

Dear Students BTech Biotechnology Course Started in the year 2002 in Andhra Pradesh with an intake of 800 students in 16 Colleges in the state. The first batch passedout in the year 2006.Many students opted this branch in Engineering( Bi.P.C and M.P.C in Intermediate) because of extensive hype in the media at that time.

When the first batch and second batches came in to the real world, they faced many problems regarding the Job opportunities and then a major question arises on their eligibility. Many companies rejected the resumes because of the only mark that it is Engineering Biotechnology. Some may say not eligible for the post and some say overqualified in Pharma and Biotech companies both in R&D (Research and Development) and QC(Quality control).

Meanwhile, students started to look for Higher Education by doing MTech and MS in Abroad ,later PhD.
Very few people got jobs in Pharma and Biotech Companies. Now slowly by this year 2010 end many Colleges are going to stop the course BTech Biotechnology and a prediction that by 2013 maximum institutions will close. Why?

BUT THE ONLY REAL TRUTH IS THAT WE HAVE A STABLE MARKET AND BIOTECH IS THE ONLY AREA TO SAVE HUMAN MANKIND.

BTech Biotech graduates have many Rights,as Under UGC Act the course is given permisssion and DBT under MST is supervising.DBT have started many programmes for the benefit of BTech Biotech. Most of the BTech Biotech students dont know this.

We have 40 CSIR labs in India ,in which nearly 35 have been working on Research in Biotechnology. Many Graduates are not utilising this opportunity.

We have 400 Universities in India and almost all University capus have Biotech Course offering Higher Education and research. Many Students dont know how to utilise this opportunity.

We have  25,000 Pharma Companies and 600 Biotech Companies .Most of the Students dosent try good and fail in Interviews because of inefficiency in  Laboratory/experiments Knowledge in Biotech.

REMEMBER DONT COMPARE BIOTECH FIELD WITH IT SECTOR ,THERE THEY ARE DEALING WITH NON LOVING THING COMPUTER WHEREAS IN BIOTECH WE ARE DEALING WITH LIVING THINGS ,SO PRODUCT OUTCOME IS WITH 50-50 CHANCES
WITH MANY EXPERIMENTAL DESIGNS .

Students have bright opportunities in Fermentation Technology as a Biotech Engineer both in Biotech/Pharma and Chemical Engg. You must be thorough with Bioreactor working and design .

Lookin to the various fields of Biotech
